Configure Channel

IVI Compliance Package

IviCounter Configure Channel

IviCounterBase Capability Group

Configures the most commonly configured properties of the counter channel: IviCounter Impedance, IviCounter Coupling, and IveCounter Attenuation.

IviCounter Configure Channel.vi

cdbl impedance (1.0 Mohm) Specifies the impedance you want the counter to use to couple the input signal for the channel. The driver sets the IviCounter Channel Impedance property to this value.

Units: ohm

Default Value: 1000000.0
civrn instrument handle The instrument handle you obtain from the IviCounter Initialize VI or IviCounter Initialize With Options VI. The handle identifies a particular instrument session.

Default Value: None
cstr channel ("") Specifies the name of the channel to configure.

Pass the virtual channel name that you assign to the instrument in the Configuration Utility.

Virtual channel names are aliases for instrument-specific channel strings. The instrument-specific channel strings can differ from one instrument to another. Virtual channel names allow you to use and swap instruments without having to change the channel names in your source code. You assign a virtual channel name to an instrument-specific channel through the Configuration Utility. This control accepts virtual channel names you have assigned to the specific instrument you are using. It also accepts the instrument-specific channel names.

Default Value: ""
Note Note  You can specify the channel name as a string variable or as a literal enclosed in double quotes.
ci32 coupling (AC) Specifies how you want the counter to couple the input signal for the channel. The driver sets the IviCounter Channel Coupling property to this value.

Valid Values:

IVICOUNTER_VAL_AC - AC
IVICOUNTER_VAL_DC - DC

Default Value: IVICOUNTER_VAL_AC
cerrcodeclst error in (no error) The error in cluster can accept error information wired from VIs previously called. Use this information to decide if any functionality should be bypassed in the event of errors from other VIs.

The pop-up option Explain Error (or Explain Warning) gives more information about the error displayed.
cdbl attenuation (1.0 dB) Specifies the attenuation you want the counter to use for the channel. The driver sets the IviCounter Channel Attenuation property to this value.

Units: dB

Default Value: 1.0
iivrn instrument handle out The instrument handle you obtain from the IviCounter Initialize VI or IviCounter Initialize With Options VI. The handle identifies a particular instrument session.

Default Value: None
ierrcodeclst error out The error out cluster passes error or warning information out of a VI to be used by other VIs.

The pop-up option Explain Error (or Explain Warning) gives more information about the error displayed.
