IviUpconverter Class Driver Overview
This instrument driver provides programming support for the IviUpconverter class. The IviUpconverter class is designed to support the typical upconverter as well as common extended functionality found in more complex instruments. The IviUpconverter class driver conceptualizes an upconverter as an instrument that can convert IF input frequency signals to RF output frequency signals.
The IviUpconverter class divides instrument capabilities into an IviUpconverterBase capability group and several extension capability groups. You can use the IviUpconverterBase capability group to configure an upconverter for frequency, basic input and output filtering, and gain/attenuation stages.
In addition, the IviUpconverter class defines extended capabilities that support different styles of sweeping the RF output and provide more precise control of signal routing through the various upconverter stages.
Use this driver to develop programs that are independent of a particular upconverter. You can use this class driver with any upconverter that has an IVI instrument specific driver that is compliant with the IviUpconverter class. The IviUpconverter class driver accesses the specific driver for your instrument using the configuration information you supply in MAX.
