CNVStopProcess

LabWindows/CVI

CNVStopProcess

int CNVStopProcess (const char *processName);

Purpose

Stops running the network variable process with the name you specify.

Note Note  If you stop a process, subsequent attempts to connect to its variables fail. Existing subscriber connections do not indicate connection failure and will receive a nonexistent quality event when you call CNVStopProcess. Write operations on existing writer connections to a stopped process will succeed, but the data is not updated on the server.

Parameters

Input
Name Type Description
processName const char * The name of the network variable process.

Note Note  National Instruments recommends using only alphanumeric characters in process names. You cannot use the backslash (\) character or the following words, which are reserved by the Network Variable Library, in processName: system, FP, LV, or NI_. Reserved process names are not case-sensitive. This function returns an error if you use any of these reserved words or the backslash character.

Return Value

Name Type Description
status int Return value indicating whether the function was successful. One indicates that a next item was found, zero indicates that a next item was not found, and a negative number indicates that an error occurred.

You can call CNVGetErrorDescription to obtain a string that describes the error.
