The Print command prints the window contents to a printer or a file. If you print to a color printer, the source code is printed using the current syntax colors.

The source code is printed using the following options from current editor:

  • Tab length
  • Font
  • Word wrap

The Print dialog box contains the following options:

  • Name—Specifies the name of the printer.
  • Properties—Opens the Document Properties dialog box, in which you can specify additional printing options.
    Note  Printer properties such as page orientation or document size are ignored by virtual printers such as Microsoft XPS Document Writer.
  • Status—Specifies the state of the printer.
  • Type—Specifies the manufacturer name and model of the printer.
  • Where—Specifies the location, such as the printer or a location on your computer, where the document will be printed.
  • Comment—Provides any additional information about the printer.
  • Show line numbers—Specifies whether to display line numbers on the document that you print.
  • Show page numbers—Specifies whether to display page numbers on the document that you print.
  • Show date—Specifies whether to display the current date on the first line of each page of the document that you print.
  • Show time—Specifies whether to show the current time on the first line of each page of the document that you print.
  • Show file name—Specifies whether to display the filename on the first line of each page of the document that you print.
  • Selection only—Prints only the selected text in the Source window.
  • Show word wrap glyphs—Specifies whether to display word wrap glyphs on the document that you print.
  • Show whitespaces—Specifies whether to display whitespaces on the document that you print.
