Selecting the Execution Target

Run»Select Execution Target for Debugging

Use this command to specify an execution target for debugging. The Select Execution Target for Debugging submenu contains the following items:

  • Execution targets that you have previously configured—The execution targets are listed according to the computer name or IP address you specified. This list is filtered so that only targets matching your project settings are displayed. If your project settings include Real-time only as the Run-time support in the Target Settings dialog box, then only real-time targets are displayed. You can select one of the following execution targets:
    • Local desktop computer—Debug an application running on the local computer.
    • Target name :Debugging port—Debug an application using remote debugging on this target.

      Note Note  If you want to debug an application remotely, you must configure the target on which the debug application is running.
    • New Execution Target—Launches the New Remote Debugging Target dialog box.
    • Manage Execution Targets—Launches the Manage Execution Targets dialog box, which you can use to add, remove, and edit execution targets.
