Adding Background Images to an Installer
Use the Welcome Background Image dialog box to specify the image to use on the first panel of your installer. Use Banner Background Image dialog box to specify the image to use on subsequent panels of your installer. To access these dialog boxes, click the down arrow next to the Welcome background image and Banner background image options and select Edit in the General tab of the Edit Installer dialog box.
The Welcome Background Image and Banner Background Image dialog boxes contain the following options:
- Image List—Displays the list of images you add. The Image List also shows the resolution and color depth of each image.
- Add Files—Launches an Add Files dialog box, which you can use to browse to and select files to add. You can add multiple files at one time.
- Delete—Deletes an image from the Image List and removes it from the distribution.
- Image Preview—Displays the image you select in the Image List.
You can specify multiple .bmp files of varying resolutions and color depths. At install time, the installer displays the image that requires the least scaling and most closely matches the color depth of the system. The following table shows the actual displayed image dimensions for a system with normal and large font settings. To avoid distortion, provide images with these exact dimensions.
